Chapters 9 "A Few Ways To Make Money" and Chapter 13 "The Day Momentum Hit" are priceless.

This book is a very honest assessment of what is required to build a business in 2-5 years that has the potential to pay you over a lifetime. I recommend that you buy this book today and read it in 1-3 sittings and watch your level of belief rise as you begin to imagine your "Beach Money" lifestyle.

Willingness To Be Coached

Success in network marketing requires one to learn new skills and broaden our understanding of mindset and human behavior. The rewards are substantial as the industry will pay you more as you become more. One of the many wonderful things about our industry is the fact that everyone starts with a clean slate and equal opportunity to create wealth and time freedom - regardless of past experience, accomplishments, successes and failures.

A willingness to be coached is essential to learning the skills required to build a large organization creating duplication within your team. As you grow to a position of leadership within your team you must transfer what you have learned to others and teach them to do the same. Recognizing three core mindsets that exist among most everyone you enroll will help you to determine who is coach able and how to manage those who are not.

Here are three core mindsets:

Get Rich Quick - Approximately 70% of individuals who enter the industry. They are short term thinkers and will not invest the time or energy required to be successful unless they see an immediate return or instant riches. They become MLM gamers jumping from program to program typically expecting something big with very little effort.

Alpha Type - Approximately 3% of individuals who enter the industry. If you can coach them effectively, they can become superstar players on your team because they have amazing posture, strong mindset, commitment to excellence and a burning desire to win. These are mega personalities; however, the downside is that their efforts are not duplicatable, they may not follow the system and may attempt to recreate the system.

True Blue - Approximately 27% of individuals who enter the industry. If you build a team of true blue team members they will become the heart and sole of your organization, these are the people you should seek to attract to your team. These individuals are dedicated to the cause, part-time in the business and desire to earn a few thousand dollars a month, they are honest and hard working.

As you build a large organization you will encounter all three types, which cannot be avoided and should therefore be embraced. Seek first to be coached and then share your new found knowledge with your team. Recognize that your stars may arise from each mindset group depending upon what they become, which is more important than what they are at the time you enroll them into your team.

We have been given a faculty of God - Creative Intelligence

Creative intelligence separates us from the animal kingdom, as one would observe any animal and come to the conclusion that animals are controlled by their environment unlike men who have dominion to change their environment and have done so throughout creation. Here is the puzzling reality; most people choose to live within their circumstances by allowing what they do not have to control there thoughts, their time and their desires.

How does this happen? Here are seven steps to doom that many have followed:

1. Grow up being told what you are not or what you cannot do
2. Go to middle school and be told at all cost just fit in
3. Start following the follower – you sign up for “follow ship”
4. You agree with society that you will not learn creative thought – it’s not taught
5. Go to high school and repeat steps 2-4
6. You are now 30 or 40 years old carrying around “ego” with a sub-servant mindset

7. For the next three days:
  • Do not tell anyone about anything that you do not have, meaning no more complaining
  • Remember, the only reason people walk around worrying about what they do not have is because they do not appreciate what they do have
  • You will never earn more than what you speak about (check your self talk)
  • Locate people who have found the truth (the hidden order) or perfected what you want to achieve and learn how they think.

Four Hours, Three Titans and Tremendous Training

On Monday evening I attended the Abundance 2008 Tour for Agel Enterprises, which featured their filed leaders Eric Worre, Randy Gage and Randy Schroeder. These three titans of the network marketing industry represent more than sixty years of collective experience in the industry and in excess of forty million dollars in earnings. During this four hour training program for leaders in Agel, the presenters opened their minds and there hearts, educated and inspired everyone in attendance.

Following are a few golden nuggets I gleaned from the conference:

I. Being a Network Marketing Professional

1. Keep your full time job: Being a professional in the MLM industry does not mean that you have quit your primary job and are now "full time" in the network marketing industry. Being a professional in the industry simply means that you conduct yourself in a manner consistent with certain characteristics.
By remaining employed you continue to be in circulation, exposed to new people on a continual basis.

Becoming full time in MLM prematurely can result in negative financial pressure and a loss of posture.

You want to demonstrate leverage in your income, which can best be done by multiplying your current income, not by merely replacing your full time income.

2. Spend 10-15 hours each week engaged in "rain maker" activities. Growth occurs when you enroll a new member or duplication occurs within your team. Focus your efforts on making presentations to new candidates for your business.

3. Time Block your day in order to remain focused on rainmaker activities as follows:

4. Maintain a candidate list

5. Step back to allow your candidates to see your opportunity and not you

6. Learn to invite in a manner that utilizes third party tools

7. Validate your message through three way calls or another tool

Tip - Journal your time for a few weeks and discover how your time is spend and make adjustments accordingly

II. Five Essential Skill Sets


1. Learn to meet people "network" to build and refresh your candidates list daily

2. Learn to invite prospects to view third party tools or to attend an event effectively

3. Learn to present your opportunity effectively

4. Learn to follow up effectively and be disciplined to follow up with consistency

5. Develop yourself as a leader. From the moment you sponsor your first person be a leader

III. Road Map to Becoming a Pro

1. Acquire knowledge and the skills you need to become more, so that you will earn more this is Learned Knowledge

2. Acquire skills learned by taking action, this is Activity Knowledge

3. Find someone who is successful doing what you seek to do and model what they do, this is Modeling Knowledge

4. You always learn more through the process of teaching, this is Teaching Knowledge

IV. Three Emotional Stages


Understand that there are three emotional stages you can access and use as a foundation from which you can launch your MLM business to higher levels of satisfaction, wealth and significance:

1. Faith - See it before the rest of the world sees it by imagining the outcome so clearly that it becomes real

2. Hope - Crystallizes your imagination

3. Belief - The secret is to do everything possible to exude belief even if you haven't fully gotten there yet. You have a huge responsibility when we meet with a candidate or lead your team

The Masses are Marching to Financial Peril Blinded by False Information

As you prospect you are sure to discover that many people are not aware of the dangers associated with relying solely on their 401K and Social Security to provide a reasonable quality of life into retirement. When I meet with a new candidate for my primary MLM business, I always dig beneath the surface to fully understand their financial position in order to uncover gaps that we can help them bridge through a home based business. What I have discovered is troubling; many people are leaving their long term security to chance and are blinded by false information about how much it will cost them to retire successfully baring unforeseen expenses such as long term medical care, a market crash effecting their 401K or other catastrophic event.


I. The masses are marching to financial peril blinded by false Information

1. The old model on how to create financial security into retirement no longer applies.
2. The world is changing due to layoffs, outsourcing, 9/11, stock market losses, the sub-prime mortgage crisis, etc.
3. Social Security when envisioned had 7.1 workers paying in the system for every 1 receiving benefits with a life expectancy of 7 years in retirement. By 2028 there will only be 2.5workers paying in the system for every 1 receiving benefits with a life expectancy of 17 years in retirement. The system was not designed to address this reality.

So how can network marketing solve the problem?

II. Healing the Blind

Two of the most powerful principles of the “prosperity mindset” when applied to helping others face reality are 1) Exposing truth in a way that becomes self evident with the mindset that you want to help others find solutions. 2) Accepting the moral obligation that you must provide an answer if you believe you have one.

1. Exposing truth in a way that becomes self evident with the mindset that you want to help others find solutions; so often when we prospect in network marketing we approach the prospect with our notion of what our business “should mean” to them.

2. Accepting the moral obligation that you must provide an answer if you believe you have one A.) Makes your mission to build your network marketing business not about you – at least not exclusively about you. B.) Supports the best aspect of the network marketing industry, which is helping others create leverage in their lives.

So here is a question for you: “If you truly believe that the network marketing business you are in has a product or service that benefits people, a compensation plan that allows new members to make money quickly and has the high probability of sustaining residual income for a decade or more; do you treat the opportunity like a real business and seek to understand where your prospect is in their lives, which will allow you to connect with them on a deeper level?”

DUPLICATION IS THE KEY!

If you have a down-line team duplicating these mindset principles you will create a greater number of enrollments within your team as your team recognizes the value of having a clear vision and respect for the process.

Here are 5 actions you should take to educate yourself and become empowered you heal those blinded by false information

1. Seek out those who have achieved what you intend to create and honor their accomplishments.

2. Invest in growing your knowledge including the economic factors present in the lives of your prospects.

3. Teach these principles to your down-line, so that they become part of the culture of your team.

4. Spend the first ½ of your prospect meeting drawing out your prospects financial position and laying the foundation for bridging gaps through your opportunity.

5. Expose truth and offer solutions that are real for the prospect.

III. Seeking those blinded by false information as you go along your way

My discovery of these truths played out during a consultation with a client when we discovered that despite her dedication for more than 25 years to her employer, her diligent investment into her 401K and exceptional performance reviews; the future is not certain as she will need to create an additional $20,000 in annual income to meet her stated goal to retire in 10 years.

The rules have changed and we must adapt our strategies to better address the challenges faced by the declining reliance on Social Security, increased health care cost, outsourcing in the workplace and volatile financial markets.

The Power of Taking Action

“My intention is to sow increase into the lives of others by creating wealth and abundance. My intention is to first impact 10,000 lives and then to see those ten thousand duplicate to impact a million lives. I intend to create wealth and abundance sow this to achieve significance.”

Prospecting In Your Full-Time Career

The beauty of network marketing is that everyone you meet may have a gap in their life that your opportunity might close. The great majority of individuals working in network marketing build their businesses part-time while maintaining their full-time careers. So often the opportunities to prospect for network marketing appear while working full-time and knowing the proper path to respectfully presenting your opportunity is a practiced art.

This week I was consulting with a new client and his financial advisor, I was there to consult on a real estate matter. Taking a very broad view of his current financial position and retirement plans it became apparent that our client has an income gap that my primary network marketing opportunity can easily fill approximately $2,000 per month. So the question is how do I preserve my good will with the client as a real estate professional while exposing our client to my opportunity.

Here are practical tips to ensure you successfully expose your opportunity and maintain your posture professionally.

1. Reaffirm that you are still committed to your profession so that they still view you as a resource for the product or service you offer in your full-time endeavors.

For example: "Sue, I want you to know that I am still committed to the real estate business; however, I am calling you today to discuss a new business venture that I have embarked on that I am really excited about and that I want to share with you."

2. Connect to their gaps and build a bridge between your professional relationship and the introduction of your opportunity.

3. Be very specific when presenting how your opportunity can close the gap and how they can succeed by working with you.

4. Help your prospect see the value of creating multiple streams of income and share the opinions of leading financial minds such as Robert Kiyosaki, Robert Allen, Donald Trump among others. All of these titans advocate for the value of network marketing.

Often the difference between a job well done and going the extra mile to add value beyond expectation for your clients and associates may require you to step beyond your comfort zone and open a door to share your opportunity. If you truly believe that you have a valuable gift to share, I do not know why you would do anything else.

Cold Market vs. Warm Market Prospecting; why the Silly Debate?

As I have networked with MLM distributors, network and affiliate marketers; I have become increasingly aware that an unnecessary debate quietly rages within many down lines concerning “warm market” vs. “cold market” prospecting. This week I had a fairly spirited conversation of my own with a fellow marketer whom I have a tremendous amount of respect for and my conclusion is that this debate is just plain silly.

Two of the most powerful principles of the “prosperity mindset” when applied to network marketing are 1.) Perspective 2.) Empathy.

1.) Perspective = A.) Understanding the unique value of both warm and cold market prospecting strategies. B.) Understanding the perspective of both warm and cold prospects by standing in their shoes for a moment.

2.) Empathy = A.) Understanding how the prospect will view your approach to them when presenting your opportunity. B.) How are they going to feel 90 days after they join your program? This is a test to determine if your commitment is to succeed by helping others succeed; the opposite would be your desire to succeed by recruiting others with the mindset that some will make it and some will not, so I am going to throw as much mud against the wall as I can and hope enough sticks.

So here is a question for you: “Why wouldn’t you approach your prospecting efforts in the same manner as you would any other business?”

DUPLICATION IS THE KEY!

So what does a solid "Warm Market" and "Cold Market" strategy look like when working in unison?

With both strategies you need to adopt a “burn the boats” mindset. In other words; I have burned the boats that brought me here, so I have no other choice than to keep moving forward.

Develop a “big business” mindset. Many people make the mistake of thinking small business or retail in their MLM. Not many of your friends and family members want to play store and earn small in MLM. Most would rather not bother. There is no doubt that you can grind and earn a few extra hundred dollars per month in MLM, but why not play big? It takes the same energy.
Playing “big” means that you will develop a down line filled with leaders. Leaders = leverage and leverage results in massive amounts of residual income.

I. Warm Market Prospecting:

Here are 7 actions you should take to grow through warm market.

1. Complete a major blast – Massive action to pour prospects into your funnel. Immediate action would be creating a list of 50 people you would like to evaluate your opportunity and expose them all to your program and then work through them one on one to reach decisions.

2. Remember that when dealing with your warm market your posture is critical. You must convey the confidence that you are serious about building a successful team and that they can really succeed with you.

3. Develop the internal mindset that you have a “gift” to offer them, not that you are begging them to join your team.

4. Learn not to become emotionally tied to the decision the prospect makes to join you or not. “Many people fail because they become discouraged when their friends and family say no to their opportunity.

5. Here is a tip – Often when your friends and family say no, they really mean no for now. They know that they will see you in a few months at Thanksgiving dinner and they will be interested to see if you are still in your program? Are you driving that new car you talked about? Did you go on that cruise that you promoted to them?

6. Be willing to cycle warm prospects through your list until they truly say “no,” you may find that as your story gets better “more success,” their interest level may increases.

7. Be sensitive and connect to where your warm prospect is mentally and try to expose gaps in their lives that your opportunity can bridge. You must be willing to recruit based on shared mindset and not on emotion. People will stick with you and build a business over time if they know why they are doing it. “No empty get rich quick promises.”

II. Cold Market Prospecting:

Here are 7 actions you should take to grow through cold market.

1. Make a decision about the components you will need to create 100-200 cold market prospects per month. Social network marketing, Web 2.0, blogging, websites, buying a pre-qualified list, etc.

2. Recognize that you can attract people that are looking for an opportunity, so this is very fertile ground to farm.

3. In the beginning avoid the temptation to measure result, instead measure activity and let the natural ratios play into your favor.

4. Create a duplicate-able system that you can teach you’re down line team and leverage into consistent growth.

5. Recognize that a solid cold market strategy can “save” members of your down line team who are not succeeding with the warm market friends and family approach.

6. Recognize that you will need to create a support system for your cold market as many who join your team will not be in your local market. So, you will need to help them plug into your companies leadership structure in their local market. Use technology to bridge this gap.

7. As with warm market, be prepared to cycle your cold market prospects through your list and seek ways to add value for them, even if they do not join you right away. They may likewise be watching you to see if you are going to be around in 6 months.

Regardless if you decide to build a successful network marketing business using warm market, cold market or both; you have an obligation to be a leader and help those who trusted you enough to give you their credit card and invest many of their dreams into what you presented to them. They joined you for a reason. The network marketing business is not a numbers business it is a people business and when people are committed to your business and are being properly lead, the numbers needed to allow everyone to succeed will follow.

I want to share with you the simple and effective system that I use as part of the dual strategy (warm market and cold market) I am using to build my team.

1.) I use a pre-qualified list of 100 leads each month.
2.) I practice and coach my team to implement a 5+5+5 system 20 days of each month. This is an easily duplicate-able system that anyone can implement.

5 Follow Up Emails
5 Mailings

Comfortable People May Be Doomed

Comfortable people may be doomed. These are harsh words yet they are true and I believe I can prove this to you if you if spend a few minutes reading this post.

Comfortable people don't feel badly enough to question their station in life. The rub is that because they are comfortable they are interrupting their bliss and their fortune and therefore are doomed to live a life that is less abundant than it could be.

Comfort breeds complacency and complacency stops the natural evolutionary process of all living things. If you were a successful buggy whip manufacturer who grew complacent and chose not the react to the evolution of the automobile industry in the early part of the 20th century you would surely have allowed innovation to rob you of your bliss and fortune as the horse draw carriage gave way to the motor powered automobile. No less is this universal truth applicable to all human life.

Discomfort is the direct opposite of comfort and will motivate you to take action in your daily life. If you are cold you put on a coat, if you are hungry you eat, if you are tired you sleep; these simple truths are evidence that discomfort breeds action and comfort being the opposite causes a lack of action and as a result there is no positive change.

Comfort is a seductive liar. The comfort we may presently be feeling in our lives may breed within our sub-conscious the feeling that we are set for life. Let us seek out truth as it applies to the three core aspects for every living person.

Soul or Spirit: When we become comfortable (complacent) in our faith we have a tenancy to spend less time studying God's word and committing to daily devotional time. We may not be as diligent with our tithing and we may stray away from our God consciousness. In time depriving the soul of nurture and evolution will create stagnant faith and a feeling of disconnection from our Creator.

The Body Physical: When we neglect our health through lack of exercise and poor nutrition, the aging process is accelerated and the rate and degree to which our body will break down later in life will be effected. Proof of this fact is not hard to find. Seek out a man or women in their 80s who has practiced good nutrition and exercise in their lifetime and do the same with someone who has not. If they are both honest about their physical life you will note several distinctions in the quality of their lives.

The Mind: Do you know anyone who refuses to learn how to use a computer? Those who refuse to embrace innovation are left behind the changes that are inevitable. A person who refuses to embrace change will no less be impacted by the changes around them and those who adapt most effectively to change always thrive and live richer lives.

So what should you do to live beyond comfort? Bury the word "complacency," thereby removing it from your life. Here is a very simple exercise that you can use to symbolize your commitment to do so; write the word "complacency" on a clean white sheet of paper, then cross a line through the word, announce "I here by bury the word complacency and declare that complacency is no longer part of my life." Tear up that piece of paper and dis guard it. Now set out to live an abundant life by putting action behind your dreams.

It's Shameful To Be A Selective Capitalist

Have you shared your MLM or Network Marketing opportunity with your family, friends and business associates? If not, why not?

There is no nobility in being a "selective capitalist" or closet network marketer. If your primary program is truly great why wouldn't you want to share it with the people you love and care the most about? If you stumbled across an abandoned gold mine and after a little exploration uncovered a room filled from floor to ceiling with gold bars; wouldn't you call the people you care about the most and invite them to help you haul out the load and share the prosperity?

There is a mistake made by many up-lines and MLM Guru's who force their down lines to choose between "warm market," those you know (or the three foot rule) and "cold market," most often cultivated via the Internet and through cold list building techniques. I think this is mistake as it eliminates a significant opportunity to build a massive down line either direction you choose. So my advice is to do both and to work within a system that will create predictable results and ensure your success.

I read the following from Joe Schroeder's Warrior's Nest manual "The Cowboy Code," on page 6:

"I also learned that within what you may consider you are failing at, therein lies a truth which if painstakingly discovered, by simply tweaking your failure minimally by a percentage, can totally shift you from failure to home run. Because isn't that what Thomas Edison did?"

If warm market is not working for you avoid the temptation to declare it pointless and turn away to cold market exclusively. Follow Joe Schroeder's advice and make a 3% adjustment in your approach. Try going deeper with your prospects by helping them explore the gaps in their lives and how your program can help bridge those gaps.

If your cold market strategy is not working for you consider Joe Schroeder's Theatre of Prosperity and Speed Enrollers program. The key to cold market is authenticity, integrity and a value added system that yields predictable results.

MLM is more than just a good idea, it is a God idea in principle because it provides the widest number of individuals to transform their lives with very few barriers to enter into a serious career in network marketing. I encourage you not to be selective in sharing the blessings found abundantly in our amazing industry.

Why Many Fail at MLM and Network Marketing Part 1

The majority of people who fail at MLM and network marketing are doomed the moment they sign up to become a new distributor regardless of the company, product or service being offered by what appears to be the perfect MLM or network marketing opportunity. People won’t fail because they decided to join an MLM or network marketing opportunity; they fail because they joined without knowing why they joined and what they would be willing to do to become successful. Often the desire to join an opportunity is fueled by emotion, out of a desire to change their lives, or perhaps a sense of obligation to the person who introduced them to the program.

I have found that those who get off to a great start, fight through rejection, overcome objections and get over the line (the point where it is more emotionally difficult to get out than to stay in) answered three critical questions and had a full understanding of the consequences of failure; they understood what they were giving up if they did not persevere.

Question #1. What is the driving force behind my decision to invest my money, time and energy into building a successful MLM or network marketing business?

Time Freedom
Childs Education
Paying Off Debt
Retirement Savings
Buying Your Dream Home
Charitable Giving
Changing the lives of others
Breaking the cycle of poverty
Achieving the goal of a six or seven figure income

These are very strong reasons to embark on a career in MLM or network marketing. If your “why” is big enough you will be able to justify your monthly auto-ship, learn to accept being told no by a prospect, maintain your focus and invest the time required (typically 10-15 hours per week) to build a meaningful residual monthly income and achieve your objectives.


Question #2. How much money do I need to make in order to achieve my objective for joining an MLM or network marketing opportunity?

Most people have a monetary number in mind when they enroll and it may surprise you to learn that it is not always a six figure annual income. The majority of people are not able to wrap their brains around the concept of earning more than three times their current annual salary. Therefore, a prospect that has never earned more than $40,000 in a year cannot conceive of earning $40,000 in a month although there are thousands of people doing just that in a wide variety of industries.

It would benefit you greatly to know your number first as this will give you a barometer with which to measure your own progress. Then make it your practice to help everyone in your down-line and every new prospect uncover theirs so that you can make plans and provide a clear road map showing them how to achieve the goal. If you spend your time trying to “motivate” someone to earn $100,000 in a year that cannot conceive of earning more that half of that you will set yourself for frustration and may cause them to fail before they start.

In the event that you or your down-line dreams of making the six and seven figure incomes available in MLM and network marketing, you must have a system to support such a vision, which will greatly increase your probability to succeed in achieving your goal. It is important to understand that there are a few simple and duplicatable activities that if incorporated into a system will predict your success in this industry.

Question #3. What is the timeframe that certain income benchmarks must be hit and what is the timeframe by which you want to achieve your income goal?

When I evaluated my primary opportunity I was very clear that I wanted to recover my initial investment in the first thirty days and I quantified how many enrollments I would have to bring into the business in the first thirty days to achieve my goal. The number was eight and I actually enrolled twelve and became instantly profitable. This may not be the goal for everyone and many may not expect to see a return for months. One of the great advantages to joining MLM or network marketing is the comparatively low start up cost and the ability to make money quickly in some (not all) programs.

If you set quantifiable goals for yourself, your down-line, and prospects, you will be able to maintain the proper perspective when you hit a rough patch or two along the way. Remember, it is always easier to build fast rather than slow in MLM; keep in mind that this is a momentum business and people generally want to know that they can achieve success in a fairly short period of time.

Ten Quick Lessons From A Millionaire

If you read the stories of nearly anyone who has achieved success in life you will note a common theme; life comes down to decisions made in quiet moments and the actions that followed. I recently had an opportunity to spend some time with a GIANT in the network marketing industry. This is a man who has earns $100,000 per week and has built two down lines of one-million dollars. He failed at MLM on more that one occasion before he cracked the code and what he has and will continue teaching me, I am determined to share with you.

I want to share ten lessons that I learned from him and I believe if you really comprehend what is said here you will transform your business and indeed your life.

Lesson # 1.

The wealthy don’t get rich by doing certain things. The people on top get that way because they are doing certain things in a certain way, which is often invisible to the naked eye.

Lesson #2.

Somewhere in your line of work, somewhere, someone is doing what you do ten times easier and making four times what you are. The obvious conclusion then is to locate that person, ascertain what they are doing, lose your ego and quadruple your income. How? By doing exactly what they are.

Lesson #3.

When you’re ego gets ahead of your ambition and you always have to be right, at the expense of your income, you are pretty much a cooked goose. The game is over before it even actually ever begins.

Lesson #4.

It takes eight to ten hours a day to work yourself in a rutt or to work yourself into earning $10,000 per week. Same day, same clock, same elbow grease. It’s just a choice between smart work and being content.

Lesson #5.

It takes the same amount of energy to sell a $1,000 widget as it does a widget by another name that sells for $100. Same energy.

Lesson #6.

People who are embarrassed by money or too cool to ask for the big bucks are employed by those who are not.

Lesson #7.

The working poor stop earning income at 5 PM or whenever they stop working. The wealthy earn all day, everyday and when they are tired at the end of the day they still are earning money because they have other people making sales as well. That simple.

Lesson #8.

You’re allowed to have more than one job and it’s alright to earn $10,000 per week and to those that think what they started doing as work in their early twenties believe this is the only means of income they can make, I feel sorry for them.

Lesson #9.

People who ASK for little get little. People who ASK for much get allot. Your better is located in your best and your plenty is located in all you can do. Are you doing ALL you can?

Lesson #10.

You can get anyone to buy pretty much anything as long as you make it easy for them to get started.
